Physical wealth is here today and gone tomorrow. But true genuine wealth is spiritual, and it is eternal. Jesus said: “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” ~John 14: 18-20 One of the greatest gifts from Almighty God is our awareness of Him, and the awareness of His presence in our life. This wonderful gift of awareness is a measure of true wealth that can never be lost.

STICKS AND STONES (the nursery rhyme)

 It is reported to have appeared in The Christian Recorder of March 1862, a publication of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, where it is presented as an "old adage" in this form: “Sticks and stones will break my bones But words will never harm me.” No one has a clue why The Christian Recorder published this Nursery rhyme back in 1862. Nor does anyone know where the nursery rhyme originated. But it doesn’t require a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to understand that the nursery rhyme is far from true. It’s true that sticks and stones could be used to break someone’s bones, however words have the power to build people up or tear them down.  Spoken words can create great joy, happiness, peace, confidence and assurance for others—or they can absolutely destroy all possibility of those things in a matter of moments. “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.   And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.   Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.    Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” ~Ephesians 4: 29-32

The Big Rock Candy Mountain

What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. ~Ecclesiastes 1:9 As much as we Americans hope and pray that our children and their children can live out their lives in peace with abundance or at least with enough; it probably won’t happen. Today most working Americans, if fortunate enough to find and keep a job, are less able to provide for themselves and their children than their parents and their grandparents did just a few years ago.   I understand that the average savings for retirement for most Americans is around $25,000. That won’t last them a year even with a Social Security check. I have heard rumors of a mysterious and huge currency change coming in the latter part of October this year. Mysterious only because few people in this country actually understand money. However, it doesn’t require a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist to understand that one can’t spend something that they don’t have for very long without a day of reckoning.   Brace yourself for impact! The day of reckoning is just around the corner! Look around! How many people that you see shopping in your local Walmart actually look healthy?   What percentage of them are obese?   If and when the shelves of Walmart are empty, or the pharmacy’s are depleted of drugs that have become a staple in America; how long will we survive as a nation?   What if the Internet suddenly stops working?   You don’t think that is possible?   As horrible as it is to consider, it’s very possible. Peace!  What peace?  Already we are people who are very afraid of our local neighbors.  We have come to the point that we check our children in and out of Sunday School.   A vast number of Americans carry concealed handguns everywhere they go. There seems to be little trust one for another. Instead we have political correctness to deal with, and if we don’t deal with it properly we will most probably be considered perverted, racist or religious fanatics. The real perverts are now lawfully becoming husband and husband or wife and wife.  Again, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist to understand that this simply isn’t right. Arrogance has become a real problem in the ranks of the Y-Generation. Evidently many of them believe that there is a place similar to “The Big Rock Candy Mountain.” In the Big Rock Candy Mountains you're going on a holiday Your birthday comes around once a week and it’s Christmas every day You never have to clean your room or put your toys away There's a little white horse you can ride of course You can jump so high you can touch the sky In the Big Rock Candy Mountains. Nothing has changed under the sun. Including Almighty God! He is eternally the same.  Time  is a dimension He created for us humans. He has provided us  liberty, faith, grace and time that we may know Him, trust Him, love and obey Him. Read below what happened to the nation of Moab.  And, never forget what happened  to Germany and  Japan a little over seventy years ago! All this could happen to America too. "We have heard of the pride of Moab— he is very proud—of his loftiness, his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart.   I know his insolence, declares the Lord; his boasts are false, his deeds are false."  ~Jeremiah 48: 29-30 "For thus says the Lord: “Behold, one shall fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Moab;   the cities shall be taken and the strongholds seized.  The heart of the warriors of Moab shall be in that day like the heart of a woman in her birth pains;   Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord.   Terror, pit, and snare are before you, O inhabitant of Moab!  declares the Lord.   He who flees from the terror shall fall into the pit, and he who climbs out of the pit shall be caught in the snare.  For I will bring these things upon Moab, the year of their punishment, declares the Lord."  ~Jeremiah 48: 40-44 Pray for America!

FOR EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON !

Everyone at AWA was always looking forward to success. There were some who whined a lot but most of us always looked at the brighter side.  We cared about our little Airline. Does it matters that those who sacrifice the most never seem to be rewarded as much as the takers of this world?  Of course it matters but that’s life here on planet earth.   The end of it all is always the same; it’s the joy of the journey that defines true success. It was the takers of this world that brought US Airways to their knees, and the takers of this world that brought American Airlines to their knees. The AWA employees, the ones who sacrificed the most, are those who made it possible for US Air, American and AWA combined to become the largest Airline in the World. I’m not saying that American Airlines and US Airways didn’t have employees that made sacrifices, because there were many of them who did, but their ranks were filled with many who had the attitude of the takers. History reminds us that humanity is always the same. The probability of the new American Airlines being a success is iffy at best but there is one thing that all the employees can do to make the journey a fantastic one.  And, that one thing is to forget about self and love your fellow employee.  Keep in mind that love and sacrifice are synonymous.

MONEY NOT BACKED BY GOLD

MONEY NOT BACKED BY GOLD is money that can be manipulated by the creator of it. The present creator of money in the USA is the Federal Reserve Bank.  Our Federal Government (USA) is and has been having an illicit affair with the Federal Reserve Bank for more than one hundred years.  By-the-way, there is nothing “Federal” about the Federal Reserve Bank, and there is no reserve what-so-ever.   Between the greedy members of Congress and the greedy owners of the FED, the two of them they have committed atrocities that are about to come to a head.
The FED has managed to takeaway gold from backing the dollar. In collusion with the US Congress, the FED has managed to print trillions of worthless paper dollars. As long as the vast majority of the people in the WORLD are deceived into thinking the US Dollar actually has value, the FED has the ability to churn the users of these worthless US dollars. And, believe it or not the FED is doing just that! HOWEVER! The world is beginning to awaken to the scam, and when fully awakened the world economy will take a few major hits. Chaos will rule for a long period of time and recovery will be slow. The possibility of the majority of Americans being reduced to poverty is likely, the least worst case will be the GAP between the wealthy and the poor will widen. Politics in America has become a Corruption of Greed and Ignorant Stupidity!

Entitlements in America have become a way of life and there is little chance of turning back. It’s more than a fly in the ointment, it’s a rapidly growing cancer that is devouring the heart of America. Popular beliefs are that there is a “Wealth Gap” in America. TRUE and it always will be true. There is the popular belief that it is the Government’s responsibility to correct or to bridge that “Gap.” FALSE! The government’s only real responsibility is to protect the rights of its citizens. Many believe that the poor have never had a real shot at the “American Dream.” FALSE! Many believe that successful Americans didn’t rightfully earn their wealth but achieved success by taking advantage of society. FALSE! They further believe that successful Americans have an obligation to give back what they have supposedly taken. FALSE! Many believe that the government owes them something just because they were born in America. FALSE! Many believe that the government dose not produce anything. TRUE!   Many believe that in order for the Government to give something to someone they must first take something away from someone else. TRUE
These popular beliefs are the primary cause that Politics in America has become a Corruption of Greed and Ignorant Stupidity! Our government is trying to do too much. It’s trying to please too many people, and because of this, politics has become very corrupted. Many times when an honest person is elected they are ignorant of truth or those already in office corrupt them. Pray for a miracle because it is going to take a miracle of Biblical proportions to turn America back in the direction that it was initially intended.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

  Literally millions of Dollars was burned-up yesterday in the form of fireworks. There are those who made a buck and there are those who spent more than a few bucks to purchase those noisy items. And, I think it is awesome that we have chosen to celebrate this exciting event in our History.   None of the celebration was a waste, because the event was so very important in our two-hundred-thirty-nine-year History. I ponder the question of how many of us know the significance of this historical date?  How many of us have ever actually tried to read and understand the Deceleration of Independence?  Do we realize the importance and the significance that Almighty God our Creator had to do with the outcome of this day 239 years ago?   And, Why is it that this document isn't spoken about more often today?  There is a lot of talk about the Constitution, but little is said about the Deceleration. Keep in mind that the Constitution defines and limits the Government, and that is all that it is supposed to do.   The Deceleration describes we the People and sets us free from tyranny. We live in a great nation with a great history, however, our future is dimmed by the ignorance of the people.  When people are ignorant of truth immorality flourishes.  When immorality flourishes it becomes easy for a despot, or an oligarchy to take over the controls of the government.    This seems to be what is taking place at the present time. Read the Deceleration of Independence below and pay close attention to the second paragraph which among other things defines we, the people. Read it in it's entirety and pay close attention to what was the chief complaint was of the  King of Great Britain at that time which caused the controversy . You might find that many of those complaints are similar to the way this administration is treating the people: The Declaration of Independence: A Transcription IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776. The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. MOTHER’S DAY is TOMORROW

Shouldn’t we celebrate “Mother’s Day” on each of our own individual Birthday Celebrations? After all we had the smallest part to do with our being born, and our Mothers had the most part. Mothers suffered the long pregnancy, the pain of giving birth and the eighteen or so years that followed getting us ready to face the world on our own. If it were not for Mothers we would not be. I celebrate Motherhood. Motherhood is an institution instituted by Almighty God Himself. Mothers are not perfect, just like the rest of us, they make boo coo (beaucoup) mistakes. The Mothers who hang-in-there for the long haul, and keep pressing on after making mistake after mistake are the real heroes. These are the Mothers who make a difference in the world. The Mother who was caught on camera chastising her son during the riots in Baltimore is a Mother who, although she makes many mistakes, will make a difference in the life of her children and a difference in the life of her community and the life of the world. It is mothers like her who are real heroes. Any halfway healthy female can become pregnant and give birth. Many are doing so. Many a misguided and lost woman can produce several children. Sometimes the mother or the child don't have a clue who the father is and most times their fathers could be one of many young men. Our welfare system has made major contributions to this fact, and some states pay women to produce bastard children. The more children produced by the mother the more money she receives on a monthly basis. (Who cares? Not politicians who want to stay in office, that’s for sure.) Most of these bastard children are left to raise themselves because their mothers are totally occupied with themselves. None of these people have a clue to the meaning of life, let alone the true meaning of Jesus Christ. They seem to be a part of Satan’s stronghold. The scripture, “…..the fields are white for harvest.” ~John 4:35b ESV comes to mind when I think about all of those who need to know Jesus. But, their bellies are full, the government promises to keep them full, and they don’t see a need for Jesus. To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” ~Almighty God, (Genesis 33:16 ESV) Still, Motherhood should be celebrated. Moses stated later in Genesis 3:20, “The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.” Mothers all over the world strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman, and I personally applaud them in their efforts, but I certainly don’t expect them to completely meet that honorable goal. But, I love them for trying. I can’t be easy to be a Mom! Especially a good, loving and hang-in-there Mom! ~awd The Woman Who Fears the LORD 10 [d] An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. 12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. 14 She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. 15 She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. 16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She dresses herself[e] with strength and makes her arms strong. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. GOD & COUNTRY

  Without the blessings of Almighty God there would be no America. There are too many times that we as a Nation would have drown beneath the waves of hateful aggression and world opinion if it had not been for the existence and the blessings of an Almighty Creator God. Historically we as a nation have reverence the Lord Almighty and His law. Therefore we have been blessed and protected by Him. Not so much for the past sixty years. Moses spoke these prophetic words to the Nation of Israel and I believe the same words apply to the USA today. The entire content of this Chapter seems to apply to us as a nation. “If you (the USA) ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God.” ~Deuteronomy 8:19-20 (The USA within the above parentheses is my own personal interjection ~awd) President George Washington spoke these words in his first inaugural address: “Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station; it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official Act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the People of the United States, a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes: and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge. In tendering this homage to the Great Author of every public and private good I assure myself that it expresses your sentiments not less than my own; nor those of my fellow-citizens at large, less than either. More great words were spoken August 28, 1963, by the Reverend Martin Luther King at the Lincoln Memorial which indicate our faith and dependence on Almighty God. Although there is much more to the speech it has become known as his “I have a dream speech.” Almighty God is the Author of Liberty and Freedom. They are His to give and He gave them to us. Our LORD was very much involved in the Civil Rights Movement. “I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today! I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together." This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. After all any power against the living God is of Satan. Why do we are allowing our liberal media to attempt to force feed us the idea that God never existed or if a Creator does exist he didn’t have nor does He have anything to do with America and that we (America) have accomplished all that we have without Almighty God’s Providence? How can we allow Almighty God to become politically incorrect? The Press may not come out and say such things, however their attitude of ignoring God, ignoring his Blessings, and turning their backs on the truth speaks much louder than their words ever could. They would have you believe that we won our independence from England on our own without any of God’s divine intervention? They would have you believe that we won WWII on our own without Almighty God’s provision. These are only two of the myths they would have Americans believe, however, these are both times that Almighty God has blessed and protected the USA during our short history. In 1956 both houses of our Congress and the President agreed, and "In God We Trust" was adopted as the official motto of the United States. How long can we ignore the IGMOs who would remove God from our society? In my mind to ignore them would be totally politically incorrect. These should be pointed out to all of God’s children for what they are. It is wrong to slander someone because of their color, their origin or their particular choice of religion doing things such as these would be incorrect. To demand that the history of our Nation be taught in our schools, and in our media which includes Almighty God is paramount in the survival of our Nation. ~awd

I N D I C A T O R S

Anyone with an ability to think and reason can see the chaos going on in the World. Just this week there have been Earth Quakes and mud slides in Nepal and riots in the streets of Baltimore, MD. It looks like it may be a long hot summer for America. Anyone who has attended some form of honest Sunday School, Christian Bible School, Spirit filled preaching or has searched the Holy Bible for meaning can easily determine that Biblical prophesied is taking place before our eyes.
G R A C E We live in a time period of GRACE. (Bible scholars call this time period the Dispensation of Grace.) It’s a period of time that Almighty God’s unmerited, undeserved and unconditional favor and love abounds on Planet Earth. You can witness this love everywhere; we feel it when someone offers us a kind word of encouragement, a warm greeting, a genuine smile or when we witness the splendor and magnificence of a glorious sunrise. Sometimes when we feel this love, it feels so awesome that our heart inside us feels like it might explode. Most recently this grace and love can be seen in the Mama Bear who chastised her Cub on the Streets of Baltimore day before yesterday. You don’t mess with Mama Bear, not even if you are one of her Cubs!
However, there is a caveat that should be understood. Presently saint and sinner alike experience Almighty God’s Grace. All people on Planet Earth feel it and know it and most of us like the way it feels. What happens when people reject this most common love and allows themselves to be filled with hate? A good example is what has taken place on Streets of Baltimore, MD this past weekend. What happens when Almighty God removes Himself from Planet Earth? I believe that the time will come when He does. Hell will be a place absent of Almighty God’s Grace. Can you imagine being in a place absent of love or Grace? The sadist part of this story is that none of us ever have to experience an absence of Grace. We can live forever basking in His Love and His Grace. Almighty God has made a provision for anyone and everyone to experience his Grace for eternity. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. If you do you will never be separated from God’s Grace. Please don’t ignore this warning. Check it out, Jesus Christ IS, and has done what He had done, and will do all that He said that He will do. That’s a historical and absolute fact.

S O L U T I O N S

 Friday the 17th of April 2015, Michelle Manhart was involved in an attempt to stop the desecration of an American Flag on the Campus of Valdosta State University.   If anyone violated the rights of another she is the guilty party.   She took the flag that belonged to the desecrators. In her attempt to protect the flag she refused to let go of the flag when the police demanded it.   However,  all things considered, I can’t help but love a woman who will standup for the American Flag, and the good American way of life, even if she was technically wrong.

It has been said that legislation should be passed to protect the American Flag, and there may have been such legislation passed in some places.   Desiring a law such as this is a very juvenile way to think.   You can only legislate and make illegal so much.   All the laws of any importance were given to Moses on Mt. Sinai, and they still apply.   And, Almighty God will be the final judge on the breaking of those laws. What is the solution to all the problems we face here in America, and throughout the World?   It’s not making new laws and then enforcing them.   It’s not even enforcing the laws that currently exist.   A law, a rule, or a code cannot fix the problems of the World or any of the individual situations within the World. The only true solution to the problems of the World it a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.   Jesus was present when the foundations of the World were put in place.   And, there is historical evidence of Him, His life, His death, His burial and His resurrection.    `  Jesus Christ is!   Jesus gave us two Commandments:  “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.   And a second is like it:   You shall love your neighbor as yourself.   On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” ~Jesus Christ (Matthew 22: 37-40 ESV) If the Good News of Jesus Christ was acknowledged, sought after, preached and believed this world would be a much different place.   What has become of the great spirit filled American preacher, fearless, bold and challenging?   Has he lost his way?   Are his interests in things other than spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ?   Is his focus on other things besides the freedom of liberty, the joys of obedience, the peace that passes all understanding and the love of Almighty God’s grace?   Could this be one of the reasons that American is looking more like a confused and disobedient third World nation than One Nation Under God?

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!

We all have a fundamental deep burning desire built within us for eternity, not just seventy, eighty, ninety or even a hundred years of life; we want to be durable with no end. None of us would knowingly turn down a guarantee that we would never have to die; a guarantee that we could live a joyful, healthy and eternal life, filled with hope and love. For most people this sort of guarantee is a dream at best and for some it isn't even a thought. Most people conjure up their own sort of self pleasing gods to believe in. Their god may be Mohammad, Baal, Buda, the Holy Bible or their wealth. This is nothing new, other gods have been around since Satan came to planet Earth. So here am I, an old worn, but not worn-out sinner who is the poorest example of what people think Christianity should be. I’m no poster child for the Christian Faith, however, I am a born-again-believer in the Life, the Death, the Burial and the Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And, this is the best news ever! I can’t keep this to myself. How is it that a total undeserving, self-centered, arrogant and sometimes out and out hateful sinner can be saved from eternal death and destruction and be granted an eternal life of joy, health, hope and love? Fact is fact, and the fact is that you too can have this guarantee for eternal life. You too, like me never have to experience death eternal. You may ask, how can you say that? Is it just because the Bible says so? Is the Bible all that there is to believe in? If the Bible is all there is to your belief, then you might say that you want nothing to do with the Christian faith, nothing at all. I will agree with that. If the Bible is the foundation of the Christian Faith then you have reason to doubt. After all it might be just a book filled with proverbs, a little history and a few parables written by some mysterious writer who wanted to give humanity some sort of plastic hope for a life after this one. However, the Christian Faith is much more! It is amazing to realize that for the first 300 years after Jesus arose from the grave that there was no New Testament. However, in spite of all the odds, in spite of all the persecution and murders of Christians; the Christian Faith flourished. The only written word that existed at that time was probably several books from what we now call the Old Testament, and most of those words were scary and they seemed to apply to only the Jews. But, in spite of this the Christian Faith flourished. I believe the Holy Bible to be the living word of Almighty God, but it’s not the foundation of my Christian Faith. The historical event of the Resurrection is the foundation of the Christian Faith, and the Bible is simply the document that documents and proclaims it over and over again. After Jesus died on the Cross, the apostles were down trodden and thought that the death of Jesus was the end. But, they were wrong and when He arose it blew them away! FACTS are FACTS and there are several hundred witnesses to seeing and touching a resurrected Jesus. This fact alone is the very reason that the Christian Faith is flourishing today. We believe in and serve a risen Lord and Savior. No dreaming about it. It is a historical fact. No other religious faith can make this claim. Buda and Mohammad are still in their graves as are all the others who are proclaimed to be gods or profits. The fact that Jesus arose gives Him and His Words credence and authority. What Jesus says is true. Eye witnesses to all of this have written much of the new Testament, therefore, the Holy Bible is true. This is the best news ever, a person would have to be completely crazy not to investigate these FACTS, and, crazier still not to believe in and accept the Truth of the Risen Lord.   Jesus wants you to know Him!

E A S T E R ?

According to various sources, the name Easter has its origin with a goddess of the Anglo-Saxons named “Eostre” (with various different spellings).   It is believed that she is the goddess of the dawn and was worshiped in the spring by pagans in Northern Europe and the British Isles.   Others beliefs include goddesses from around the world: Ishtar, Ashtoreth, Venus, and others.   Every primary god is a figure of Nimrod, and every primary goddess is a figure of Semiramis. So the legions go. None of these gods or goddess are alive today and most of them never lived at all.   They were all conjured up gods that behave themselves according to the desires of their inventors and believers.
Christianity is totally different.   Easter is a resurrection day celebration that is all about what Almighty God has done for the world and particularly what he has done for born-again-believers.   All of the characters that are involved in the resurrection of Jesus were real people.   And, Jesus is;  because He has risen from the grave on the third day and he has since never died.   The event  is a historically true fact.   There are many witnesses who have written books about this time.   It’s the most important event in the history of mankind.   And, it’s the most important event in the future of eternity.   There is not another day that is more important that the day we celebrate as Resurrection Day, better known as Easter.   It is all about a risen Savior who was sent to redeem all who believe in Him.   It means that if a person will give himself or herself to Jesus and believe in Him that they will never ever be separated from the Love of Almighty God and they will live with Him for eternity. On an Easter Sunday years ago, I was flying a Boeing 737 for America West Airlines.   The entire crew was hanging out in the First Class cabin awaiting the gate agent to announce the boarding call for our next departure.   A young flight attendant sounded a question; What is all this Easter business about anyway?   What is the big deal about it?   I answered the question truthfully but failed to take full advantage of the opportunity that presented itself.   It could have been a time to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I failed.   At the time I don’t think that I fully realized the total significance of the Resurrection. I don’t think very many born-again-believers  today are ready to give an explanation.   Just like me, I knew the truth, but didn’t fully understand the significance.   When I think about it now, joy fills my heart and tears may appear,  because Almighty God has chosen to create me, and then to draw me near to Him, and then to save me.   Jesus went through a hard life, a crucifixion, and arose on the third day in a glorified body.   He promises me a glorified body just like His someday. WHAT ON EARTH COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT?

JOSHUA A MAN OF GREAT COURAGE

Not only did Almighty God give Joshua his first victory at Jericho but with God’s divine help he defeated all the inhabitants of the Promised Land with a few exceptions. One exception wasn’t a defeat, but rather a deceit perpetrated on him by the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. "Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did some remain. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal allotments. And the land had rest from war." ~Joshua 11: 22b-23 ESV
After reading the first eleven chapters in the book of Joshua I find it most interesting that on behalf of the descendents of Israel Almighty God saw fit to stop time for a full day, He also caused great hail stones to fall that caused more enemy deaths than all of Joshua’s men during the whole campaign of moving into the Promised Land. Joshua and his men spilled much blood taking  possession of the land given to them by Almighty God. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to meet Joshua in an environment where we could know him personally?   If I could meet and get to know a hero from history, and I had my choices between Joshua and George Washington, or John Adams, or Martin Luther or almost anyone else I would choose Joshua. Almighty God gave him a great amount of courage and he used it freely. From the first time that he crossed the Jordan River and the forty years of wondering around in the wilderness until the resting from the end of war he maintained a personal relationship with Almighty God. I would love to sit down with Joshua and get to know him. He is a fascinating person. I am afraid to try and explain to others what the Holy Scripture say. Because so much importance is placed on rightly dividing the Word that I tend to be very cautious.  But, I will say this; read it and study it with an open mind and open heart. Almighty God will speak to you. However, you must listen with your heart.

IF ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; BUT IF ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

Thankfully, we live in a period of Grace, however,  Almighty God has not changed. We have the Old Testament to help us understand Him and His Justice which still applies today.  If it were not for the law of Moses how would we know what is right and what is not.  The progressives and the secularist of today would have us believe that there is no evil, no right and no wrong and that we were not created by a Holy God Creator, but that we just evolved or happened by accident. There is historical proof that Jesus Christ did live and He did shed His Blood for us and He did arise from the grave after three days and three nights.  These facts provide believers with invincible protection, however, the "IF" is still true and still very important.

From Servant to Taskmaster

Almost everything is touched by unlawful taxes perpetrated on us by our Federal Government.   Over the past one-hundred-and-two years our government has been transformed from public servant to a controlling taskmaster.   And yet, the vast majority of our citizens seem to believe that all of this taxing is right and just.   Those in power often point to the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the USA.   This Amendment was never lawfully ratified by 3/4ths of the States. Notice that anyway you look at it or read it it stands diametrically opposed to the heart and spirit of the Deceleration of Independence, and all the original meaning of the Constitution. I believe President  Calvin Coolidge knew the truth when he stated, "A government which lays taxes on the people not required by urgent and public necessity and sound public policy is not a protector of liberty, but an instrument of tyranny.  It condemns the citien to servitude."   I regret that he didn't do more to destroy the Federal Reserve Bank! WHERE ARE THE STATESMEN OF THE 20th & 21st CENTURIES HIDING?

W O R R I S O M E !

  Life in these United States is most defiantly becoming worrisome. I can’t help but feel a great anxiety for the pain that is about to come to so many.   It’s  disappointing almost to a point of being depressing. Think about it!   The USA has been at war over 20 years and those in power use the war effort as a churn to extract as much as they can from us for their own gain. Is there any resolve to win this war?   Never before has our economy been so tittering and unbalanced.   Never before have the American people been so deceived, lost and confused.   Never before have such massive attacks been perpetrated on the family.   It has been said, “how goes the family, so goes the Church and how goes the Church so goes the Country.”   I believe this to be very true.   But, few if any are willing to think about that. There is so much that is right about America, but she is under attack by the most hateful, deceptive and ruthless creature known as Satan.   People don’t want to talk about it and some won’t talk about it, and many don’t believe it.   The vast majority of Americans don’t have enough knowledge and understanding about the past, the present or the future to talk about it.   And, what is most distressing to me is when I confront fellow believers about it; they just seem to throw up their hands and say, it’s going to happen, the bible says so, nothing we can do. I disagree. We can tell others about Jesus, and how He loves us just as we are.   We can tell them that there is always hope.   We can tell them where they can find the faith to believe.  We can tell them the joy of personally and intimately knowing the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.   We can tell them how knowing Him makes our hearts soar like Eagles and how He places us in the most wonderful places that we never expected. Dying is not really the problem for me and many other believers because our citizenship is not here.   When I die I will immediately be with my Lord and Savior, because where He is I will be there with Him.   With Him is where my citizenship is.   Actually, I am already there with Him, and He is always with me.   All of this knowledge and understanding does not remove the fear and dread for my family, friends and others who are not secure.   Even old reprobate sinners can be born again and become brand spanking new, and it will change their life.

PROCRASTINATION

Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish.  He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.   As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave.   When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”   At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him.  ~ACTS 24:24-26 NIV
Felix knew the truth, because Saint Paul told him.  However, because he was afraid, he put off making a decision.   Although, Felix heard the truth, and he knew it was the truth and evidently he liked hearing about the truth.  Notice, he continued to seek opportunities to listen to Saint Paul.  (The bribe mentioned was most probably an excuse to see and listen to Paul.)  Felix knew everything he needed to know for salvation and this knowledge made him afraid, therefore, he put off making a decision.  Felix probably never acted on the truth that he knew. ~awd Procrastination is a form of bondage not laziness.                                   ~Dr. Charles Stanley When a person knows a truth but fails to act on it because of procrastination, they are most probably in bondage to fear.  And, they become masters at putting off things that they are afraid of. ~awd

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY 2015 Another year of American Football comes to a close. And what a Game! Something about the agony of defeat comes to mind when I think of that final pass that was intercepted. Russell Wilson could have been a Hero but now he has to take the heat of what many say was a stupid call. The fact is that none of us know what the final score will be in this life. Ours is to do our best, obey the Lord and leave the consequences to Him. If we are born-again-believers our citizenship is not here and the final day of our lives will be the Lords choosing. Ours is to trust and obey!

A VERY SAD TRUTH

I’m not upset because the vast majority our citizens (Americans) have become ignorant stone throwers and that they are throwing the stones at other ignorant stone throwers.   However, there is nothing new under the sun. I am especially angered when I hear of two of New York City’s Police Officers were murdered in cold blood while on duty and sitting in their patrol car.   Why?   Because of ignorance?   Because of racial hate?  There is nothing new about that.   I believe that the primary reason for this happening is because the shooter didn’t know Jesus Christ.
I’m not upset because the homosexual agenda seems to be winning ground and in many walks of life being a gay man or lesbian women is very IN.   After all, there is nothing new under the sun. I’m not upset because the murder of human beings has become epidemic and people are doing it daily.   Thinking all the time that what they are doing something good for society.   Abortion is not good! However, there is nothing new under the sun. I’m not upset because adultery and fornication has become totally right, as right as shelling peas on a Saturday afternoon.   After all, there is nothing new under the sun. What is upsetting to me is the fact that all of this is taking place on my watch.   A Christian for more than fifty years and I have failed to expressed the Good News of Jesus Christ to as many people as I could have. I am angered because of my failure, America is becoming a pagan nation.  What was once a great Christian Nation is falling apart, and it’s all my fault.   May Almighty God forgive me.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ever wonder how we got so politically messed up in our nation? There was a similar thing that happened in the Old Testament. After the Israelites moved into their promised land the book of Judges tells us that “In those days Israel had no king and every man did as he saw fit.” (17:6, 21:5) This is basically saying that there was no central government. Because there was no central government there was also no standing national army. But then they didn't need one. That’s because around 1200 BC the Egyptians were fading, the Hittites vanished, Assyria was weak and distracted, and the Babylonians and Persians were nowhere. God cleared everyone out so His people could live in relative peace. And they relied on God for their protection. But then about 1042 BC the people went to Samuel and said "We want a king to be like everyone else." (1 Sam. 8) Or to say that a different way, "We want to rely on a government instead of God." They wanted to do things their way, not God’s. The results . . . within three generations their leader (Solomon) was worshiping other gods and shortly after he died their nation was split. Our nation is, and has been for some time, in a fight. Not so much actual fighting now since we left Iraq and Afghanistan but one for the core identity of who we are and direction we are going. Are we going to be a nation truly under God or not? Are we going to do things His way or not? November 4 is vote day. But if we head to the polls with only the feeling that we need nose plugs as we pull the lever for the lesser of the evils, are we really making a difference or are we just hoping for one party to do less damage to us than another? Yes we can pray for our leaders, but are we still just wanting to rely on a government to fix our ills instead of God? Why not be preemptive instead. Long before elections we need to humble ourselves and do our part to repent of our sins telling God we have sinned against Him by making politics and government our defining factor and not relying on Him. If we really want change we need to pray for a change of heart that goes across party lines. And that starts by changing our hearts first. Instead of thumping our blue state/red state chests we need to be humbly, as a nation, seeking first His kingdom, His righteousness, and His way. Being led by the Spirit (Rom. 8:13) is the only way we are going to live and remain in our promise land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” truly being “One Nation Under God.” That’s what we need to be voting for. ~Dave Dedman (Friend of Renda Brumbeloe)
